Woman sends list of rules to wedding guests – soon a lot of them start cancelling

A bride-to-be turned to Reddit’s AITA forum after guests started canceling due to her wedding rules. She emphasized that her fiancé fully supported these strict guidelines, which included an unplugged ceremony and dinner (no phones, even for checking on kids), a black-only dress code (women in dresses, men in tuxedos), and bridesmaids maintaining their weight to fit pre-ordered dresses.

Some guests, like her grieving aunt and body-dysmorphic sister-in-law, found these rules upsetting, but no exceptions were allowed. The bride also demanded her maid of honor leave her daughter, the flower girl, at a hotel with a babysitter during the ceremony, which led to further conflict.

As cancellations poured in, Reddit overwhelmingly deemed the bride and groom unreasonable, pointing out that while a wedding reflects the couple’s wishes, guests have every right to opt out of over-the-top demands.
