I Dumped My Date After She Was 45 Minutes Late but I’m Not Sure If I Did the Right Thing

I had a first date planned with a woman from a dating site, set for 2 p.m. I arrived on time, but at 2:10 she texted to ask if I was there, mentioning she was still at home but would leave soon and arrive in 20 minutes. This implied she waited to confirm I was there before leaving, which put me off. I risked showing up on time and expected the same.

I finished my coffee and left at 2:30. At 2:45, she texted asking where I was. I replied that I had left when she didn’t show as promised. She responded with angry texts, blaming me for not informing her I was leaving. Many commenters agreed with my decision, noting her behavior was rude and entitled. It was a lesson learned in dating expectations and respect for others’ time.
