The Story:
While on vacation, my wife and I went on a one-day yacht tour, and there was a middle-aged woman among the passengers. I was about to go for a swim when I heard the woman talking to my wife—asking where we were from, what we had visited, and how our trip was going. So, I decided to listen in.
Then the woman asked my wife:
— How many years older is your husband than you?
She asked because I’m 10 years older than my wife. My wife doesn’t like it when strangers ask rude questions, so she said:
— He’s not my husband. I’m only with him for his money.
Later, I asked my wife why she said that, and she told me:
— Now she’ll have plenty to gossip about for the next month.
