My Friends Always Order Expensive Food and Expect Everyone to Split the Bill, Here’s What I Did

A Reddit user shared his experience of dining with a group of friends, including two notorious “leeches,” Susan and Greg, who always order the most expensive dishes and expect the group to cover their share. Knowing their habits, he decided to pull a stunt at a recent dinner. While the group ordered meals, he only got a $4 drink, as did a couple of others. When the bill arrived, Susan and Greg expected it to be split evenly, but he insisted they only pay for their drinks, leaving Susan, Greg, and another friend with a hefty bill. The next day, Susan, Greg, and even another friend bombarded him with texts, upset by the unexpected split. Despite the backlash, he stood by his decision, feeling justified in not subsidizing their extravagant orders.
