Jennifer, a single mother of four, was left struggling after her husband, Adam, walked out when she became pregnant with their fourth child. With no financial support and desperate for a job, Jennifer finally landed one at a hotel in a nearby city. However, the daily commute was too costly, so she decided to buy a used car.

After finding a car she could afford, Jennifer had to pawn a family heirloom to come up with the money. The car’s owner, Jeff, agreed to sell it to her for $5000 and, as she drove away, he asked her to check the trunk when she got home.
