Kensington Palace have issued an update on Kate Middleton\u2019s recovery, weeks after the Princess of Wales left hospital following an abdominal procedure.<\/p>\n
According to reports, Middleton is \u201cdoing well\u201d as she continues to rest up at home, having left hospital some 13 days after her surgery. At current the Royal Family have declined to go into details regarding what exactly Kate was suffering from that required surgical intervention, nor is it clear if they ever will.<\/p>\n
On top of that, official updates as to Kate\u2019s well being have come few and far between, paving the way for speculation that might otherwise have been avoided.<\/p>\n
Among the claims that Kensington Palace were forced to refute was one from Spanish journalist Concha Calleja, who sensationally said the Princess had been placed in a coma following her surgery.<\/p>\n
The Royal Family vehemently denied the rumor, and have since insisted that the Princess of Wales is making good progress. Even so, Kate is expected to be out of action where royal engagements are concerned until at least after Easter.<\/p>\n
In a double announcement this morning, Kensington Palace confirmed that Prince William was pulling out of attending a memorial service for the late King Constantine of Greece due to a \u201cpersonal matter.\u201d<\/p>\n
Perhaps aiming to snuff out rumors before they had a chance to develop, the Palace were quick to add that Kate Middleton is \u201cdoing well\u201d.<\/p>\n
As per reports, William was scheduled to deliver a reading at the service for King Constantine in St George\u2019s Chapel, though called the Greek family to let them know he was unable to attend.<\/p>\n
The Daily Express said that King Charles, currently undergoing treatment for cancer, would also miss the service, with Queen Camilla instead leading the Royal Family members at the memorial.<\/p>\n
As far as Kate is concerned, today\u2019s update will certainly be well received by royal fans around the world. Though the general message put forth from the Palace has implied that the Princess is doing well, the dearth of information has hardly helped things where the rumor-mill is concerned.<\/p>\n
Only yesterday did a Spanish journalist claim that her recovery wasn\u2019t progressing favorably after it was reported that Kate had hired a private secretary.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere has been a move by the British royal household that is not understood,\u201d said journalist Aurelio Manzano.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn the one hand they leak that Kate has hired a private secretary, to imply that she is at home doing things, but, on the other hand, we do not see an image. Until we see it, speculation will not stop.\u201d<\/p>\n
